Shop/wine critic/winery review:
Black Ink is a cult wine for the masses. With the Halloween season upon us. what better way to celebrate than with a dark, sinister red wine with a dose of a secret component? I imagine a group of old witches standing over the cauldron, debating which ingredient they’ll blend in with this batch of red wine; something obscure that won’t be detected by the human eye, but on the tongue, will be noticed by the finest of pallets. “Why not squid ink?” one of the enchantresses suggests, and the rest is history.

So I tried this at the Vintage Cellar during one of my tastings. I fell in love. Oh my gosh it was so good. It has this rich maybe blackberry nose, that really does make it super enticing. The flavors are rich and strong, with maybe some red licorice? Its something spicy without being herbal. It also has a rich full mouthfeel. I totally recommended this to some of my friends. Its a red wine that I think a lot of people can drink because its a little sweeter with all its strong berry flavors, but not cheap or sugary. I need to buy more. I also super love the graphics of the label and their marketing scheme. Its dark and mysterious, like some old noir film.
